Before researching we thought the answer was: Rome's trading declined. Oversea's trading declined more because of the events that caused corruption in the city.
We choose our source depending on the content of the information we found on the site. Since our research question is: "Why did the economy in Ancient Rome decline?" we had to find a site that was relevant to this question. We found many sites that had irrelevant information so we used a process of elimination. Also we chose our source because it was the closest thing to our question. In result of that we found enough information to answer our question.
